The stainless tee has three holes, which are convenient for changing the direction of the liquid, shutting off, and interflow. The core reason lies in cost, processing difficulty, and adaptability to different scenarios. Titanium is a rare metal, and the costs of mining, refining, and processing are extremely high. The raw material price of pure titanium three-way fittings is 5-10 times that of 304 stainless steel, and the price gap between processed products is even greater.
On the contrary, stainless steel has abundant raw material reserves, mature refining processes, and low production costs, making it suitable for most industrial and civilian applications. For projects that do not require extreme corrosion resistance, choosing stainless steel three-way fittings can significantly reduce overall costs. The processing difficulty of stainless steel three-way fittings is lower, the supply chain is more mature, and it has good plasticity, resulting in high production efficiency.
At the same time, China has a complete stainless steel pipe fitting supply chain, with a wide range of specifications and a short delivery cycle. In contrast, titanium alloys have high hardness and poor thermal conductivity, making them prone to sticking to the cutting tools and deformation during processing. They require strict equipment and process requirements, as well as specialized processing tools and high-temperature welding technology, resulting in a long production cycle and difficulty in customizing for small and medium batches.
